Instagram announced today that some big players in the marketing game like Taco Bell, Macy’s and Airbnb have started testing video ads in their carousel ad platform. Instagram has been making more of a push to get their ad system on the right track after launching last year.
When first launched the carousel ad program was just using still images and they hope to get better user interaction with the new video ads. They now all advertisers to combin pictures and video with a minimum of three to five pieces of content. The advertisers have to keep the videos to 60 seconds.
Instagram is only letting some of their bigger clients test out the ads for now but in the coming weeks and months the ads will be opened up to all advertisers.
